The land of the petitioner measuring total 183 square yards, Plot No.51 in his possession being a member of Sawan Cooperative House Building Society comprised in khewat no.2332, khatoni no.2978, Village Khairpur, Rect.No.18 Killa no.19/2 was acquired for setting up commercial and residential Sectors 21 and 22 (Part), Urban Estate, Sirsa vide notification dated 15.1.2008 and 14.1.2009 under Sections 4 and 6 respectively of the Land Acquisition Act. The award was passed on 12.1.2011. It is claimed that major portion of the acquired land was subsequently released by the Government under Section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act and only 43 square yards remain acquired. Petitioner is stated to have filed CWP 15632/2014 seeking a direction for release of the remaining land as well, which was disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to decide the representation in that regard expeditiously.
