(ORAL) This petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 6.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners want to marry each other after attaining the marriageable age of petitioner No. 1 but the family members of petitioner No. 2 are against their relationship. He further submits that both the petitioners have been living together in live-in relationship and facing threat from the family members of petitioner No. 2 and in this regard, they have also moved a representation dated 10.1.2020 (Annexure P-3) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala-respondent No. 2.

Without commenting upon the marital status or live-in relationship of the petitioners, I dispose of the petition with directions to GURPREET SINGH 2020.01.10 17:57 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh respondent No. 2 to decide the representation of the petitioners,

CRWP No. 317 of 2020 -2Annexure P-3 and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law if any committed by them.
