(Oral) Petitioners have filed this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty from respondents No. 4 to 6. On the last date of hearing while issuing notice of motion, learned State counsel was directed to file status report. In response thereto, status report by way of affidavit of Raminder Singh Kahlon, PPS, DSP, Nnagal, District SBS Nagar, Punjab, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3, has been filed in the registry. Same is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. In the status report it has been stated that the private respondents have accepted the marriage of the petitioners and hence the petitioners do not apprehend any threat to their life and liberty at the hands of the private respondents. In the circumstances, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the instant petition may be disposed of as infructuous, in the light of the status report filed by the State in Court today. Ordered accordingly.
