The present petition has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 260 dated 04.10.2019 under Sections 22, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, registered at Police Station Lehra, Sangrur, District Sangrur.

Custody certificate of the petitioner has been filed by learned State counsel in Court today, which is taken on record. 3.

After arguing vehemently on the merits of the case and finding that this Court is not inclined to grant the concession of regular bail to the petitioner, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the present petition, however, has submitted that appropriate directions be issued to the trial Court to expedite the trial as the petitioner is in custody since last more than four and a half years.

In light of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition stands dismissed as withdrawn with a direction to the trial Court to expedite the trial in accordance with law.
