(ORAL) Appellant Harvinder Singh has come up in the appeal against the impugned order dated 02.12.2019 passed by learned Single Judge whereby the writ petition filed by respondent No.4-Sewa Singh challenging the orders dated 23.12.2015 and 14.06.2012 appointing the present appellant as Lambardar of the Village Suron, Tehsil Rajpura, District Patiala, was allowed and the order dated 23.06.2010 passed by the District Collector, Patiala appointing Sewa Singh as Lambardar was upheld.
Learned counsel for the State has informed that on 20.12.2021 respondent No.4-Sewa Singh has expired. Since the Lambardar had expired, the post of Lambardar has to be again filled up by the Collector in accordance with the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887. Moreover, an issue in respect of the appointment of Lambardar is pending before the Larger Bench.
