On 15.01.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to re-issue him passport. The petitioner was issued passport on 02.06.2011 which was valid upto 01.06.2016. The petitioner applied for passport on 17.11.2022. The petitioner is 12 years old and in the application seeking passport he has pointed out that his name may be changed.

Notice of motion, returnable for 24.01.2024.

Ms. Monica Chawla, Central Government Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service. She seeks time to get instructions.

Mr. Manpreet Singh Kanda, Advocate submits that respondents on 15.01.2024 have issued passport to the petitioner, however, there is mistake in the particulars of the petitioner, thus, he may be granted liberty to move an appropriate application before the competent authority. 3.

In the wake of statement of counsel for the petitioner, the petition stands disposed of. This Court is sanguine of the fact that as and when petitioner will approach passport authorities for rectification of mistake, it would be corrected expeditiously.
