Mrs.Arti Bansal, Advocate, for the petitioner. **** G.S.Sandhawalia J.(Oral) Challenge in the present revision petition is to the order dated 16.01.2015 (Annexure P4), passed by the Addl.District Judge, Ludhiana, whereby a sum of `3000/- per month has been awarded as maintenance, to the respondent-wife.

Admittedly, the parties were married on 22.12.2006 and there is a male child, namely, Harshaanjeet Singh, from the marriage. The defence of the petitioner-husband is that the respondent-wife is working as Lecturer and earning `25,000-`30,000/- per month whereas the petitioner is a Driver and earning a salary of `4000/- per month. In such circumstances, challenge has been raised to the impugned order.

Paltry sum of `3000/- per month has been awarded as maintenance, to the respondent-wife, in the present age of high inflation. The child is also with the respondent-wife. In such circumstances, it is the duty of the petitioner to contribute to the upbringing of the child. No illegality or infirmity can be found in the order impugned, directing the said maintenance. Dismissed.
