COCP 980/2018
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH COCP 980/2018 Date of decision:23.03.2018.
Inderjit Singh Maggo ..............Petitioner v.
Bharti Chawla ..............Respondent Coram:
Hon'ble Mr.Justice Jaswant Singh Present:- Mr.Swaran Tiwana,Advocate for the petitioner Jaswant Singh,J,(Oral).
Petitioner has been named as an accused by the respondent/Complainant- Bharti Chawla in case FIR No.80 dated 22.3.2013 under Sections 341/354,506 IPC,PS Mandi Gobhindgarh,Distt.Fatehgarh Sahib. The trial is at the stage of prosecution evidence. The present contempt has been filed with the allegations that the complainant on two different occasions before this Court on 18.9.2013 and 12.2.2016 in two separate quashing petitions pertaining to the FIR in question has resiled from her statement that a compromise has been effected between the parties. It is,however, conceded that 1st petition for quashing was withdrawn and the subsequent one is stated to be pending.
After arguing for sometime and having failed to convince the Court, learned counsel seeks permission to withdraw the instant contempt to enable his client to seek appropriate remedy in accordance with law. Dismissed as withdrawn with liberty aforesaid. 23.03.2018 (Jaswant Singh) joshi Judge Whether Speaking/reasoned Yes/No Whether Reportable Yes/No Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2018.03.23 16:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
