After hearing the instant protection petition, on 18.01.2021, following order was passed:
"Present:
Mr.Gurjinder Singh Chahal, Advocate for the petitioners.
***** The present petition has been filed by the petitioners for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 4 to protect their lives and personal liberty, as they apprehend danger at the instance of private respondent No. 5, who is the brother-in-law of petitioner No.1, namely, Bhupinder Singh, on account of falsely implicating them in false and frivolous case as per his alleged allegations. Notice of motion.
Mr.Sidakmeet Sandhu, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of official respondents No.1 to 4 and seeks time to get instructions from appropriate forum and for filing reply on behalf of official respondents No.1 to 4.
In view of the request so made, adjourned to 01.02.2021. " 2.
Thereafter, there was no representation on 01.02.2021, 17.12.2021 and on 05.04.2022 on behalf of petitioners. 3.
On 12.09.2022, the matter was adjourned on request of some proxy counsel because the arguing counsel for the petitioners was stated to be admitted in hospital.

On 10.10.2022, again there was no representation on behalf of petitioners and following order was passed:
"Present:
None for the petitioners.
Mr. M.S. Bajwa, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab.
Ms. Khushika Setia, Advocate for respondent No.5.
*** Learned State counsel submits that as on date there is no evidence against the petitioners and co-accused has been declared proclaimed offender. He further submits that as on date petitioners are not required in FIR No. 60, dated 15th May, 2020, under Sections 420, 120-B IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012, registered at Police Station Kheri Gandian, District Patiala. Inspite of two pass overs, none has appeared on behalf of the petitioners.
In the interest of justice, list on 27th October, 2022. " 5.
Thereafter, again there was no representation on behalf of petitioners on 27.10.2022 and also on 13.01.2023. 6.
Today, at this stage, counsel appearing on behalf of petitioners states that she has already filed her power of attorney in the registry, which is annexed as Flag-A. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place. She further submits that in view of the statement of learned State counsel recorded in order dated 10.10.2022, she does not press the present petition at this stage.

Dismissed as not being pressed, at this stage. 8.
Accordingly, petition stands disposed of.
