( Through Video Conferencing ) **** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Present petition has been filed seeking issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 to decide an application dated 10.07.2020 (Annexure P-1) submitted by the petitioner for the grant of Arms Licence expeditiously.

The facts as averred in the writ petition are that petitioner is a government contractor, who needs to travel with cash during odd hours keeping in view his engagements and hence, he had applied for the grant of Arms Licence, vide application dated 10.07.2020 (Annexure P-1). The grievance of the petitioner is that despite all the formalities being complete, no final decision is being taken by the competent authority on the application submitted by him and that too without giving any valid justification. From the pleadings, it transpires that petitioner has already served a legal notice dated 28.12.2020 (Annexure P-3) upon respondent No.2 for the relief as being claimed in the present writ petition. Interest of justice will be served, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the claim of the petitioner as raised in legal notice dated 28.12.2020 (Annexure P-3). Without commenting upon the merits of the case or about the entitlement of the petitioner for the relief, which has been claimed by him in the legal notice dated 28.12.2020 (Annexure P-3), the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 28.12.2020 (Annexure P-3) within a period of three months from the receipt of a copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
