**** JAISHREE THAKUR, J. (ORAL) The instant writ petition has been filed seeking to challenge the seniority that has been given to the private respondents by ignoring the claim of the petitioner.
It is averred in the petition that the petitioner fulfills all qualifications and deserves promotion to the post of Principal on the basis of seniority-cum-merit.
The writ petition was ordered to be listed for hearing after the decision in LPA No.870 of 1993. The matter came up for hearing on 27.01.2017, on which date there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner. The matter is taken up again for hearing. As per Annexure P-1, the date of birth of the petitioner Baldev Singh is shown to be 20.05.1938 which would necessarily mean that he has since superannuated and probably not interested in pursuing the writ petition, therefore, the writ petition is dismissed for non-prosecution, however, giving liberty to the petitioner to Satyawan 2017.03.17 09:44 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
CWP No. 1067 of 1993 -2revive the writ petition within a period of three months from the date of passing of this order, if he so desire.
The writ petition stands dismissed with the aforesaid observations.
