(ORAL) In the present writ petition, the grievance of the petitioner is that after he was convicted vide order dated 06.11.2018 in FIR No.72 dated 16.04.2003, registered at Police Station Kum Kalan, District Ludhiana, under Sections 302, 148 and 149 IPC, respondent Punjab State Electricity Board (now Punjab State Power Corporation Limited), passed an order dated 23.09.2009 (Annexure P-2) dismissing the petitioner from service in view of the conviction. Against the said order dated 23.09.2009, petitioner filed an appeal dated 04.05.2017 (Annexure P -3) before the Chairman of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. Counsel for the petitioner argues that though the said appeal was sent to the concerned authorities for appropriate decision, vide letter dated 02.06.2017 (Annexure P-4), still even after an expiry of more than 11⁄2 years, the said appeal is pending consideration with the respondents. CWP-6262-2019 -2Counsel for the petitioner further states that at this stage the only prayer of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that the competent authority of the respondent(s) Corporation be directed to decide the appeal (P-3), filed by the petitioner, in a time bound manner. In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner in the appeal, the respondents are directed to decide the appeal dated 04.05.2017 (Annexure P-3) within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
