Mr. Amandeep Chhabra, Advocate for the petitioner. HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking direction to respondent Nos.2 & 3 to provide protection to the petitioner at the hands of private respondents. It has been averred that the petitioner, who is 25 years old, got married with respondent No.4-Sudhir Kumar on 12.05.2012. There is no child from the marriage.

It is the case of the petitioner that respondent No.4 is habitual drunkard and after consuming liquor, he used to beat her and made demands of dowry. The petitioner narrated her tale of woe to her parents i.e respondent Nos.6 & 7 but instead of helping her, they forced her to continue living with respondent No.4. Feeling helpless, the petitioner left the house of respondent No.4 on 12.01.2022 and since then she has been living with her friend Rohit son of Rishipal, resident of Mandi, District Panipat. When the private respondents got to know that she is residing with said Rohit, they started threatening that they would eliminate her if she did not leave the MANOJ KUMAR 2022.01.20 09:52 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP No.457 of 2022 #2# company of respondent No.4. The petitioner has submitted representation dated 13.01.2022 (Annexure P-2) to respondent No.2 detailing the threats received by her and seeking protection of her life and liberty, however, no action thereon has been taken and that the petitioner is continuously receiving threats from the private respondents. Without commenting in any way upon the veracity of the allegations, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to look into the said representation and take necessary action in accordance with law.
