  CM No. 7569-CWP-2024 The application is allowed and the affidavits of petitioners No.1 to 4 dated 27.04.2024 (Annexures P-10 to P-13) enclosed with the application are taken on record.

CWP No. 1136 of 2024 In view of the affidavits filed by the petitioners, learned senior counsel for the petitioners is not in a position to press the writ petition which seeks relief of quashing the notification dated 25.07.2017 and for declaring the local area as mentioned in the schedule of the notification to be Committee in the name of the Municipal Committee, Jakhal Mandi, District Fatehabad and for declaring it as a Gram Panchayat. Apparently, one of the petitioners himself has contested the election as per the affidavit now filed unsuccessfully for the post of Municipal Councilor. In such circumstances, having been unsuccessful in the election, he cannot now turn around and pray for the relief which is claimed.

In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn as not pressed.
