The petitioners have filed the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.192 dated 30.12.2019 under Sections 379, 447, 511, 149 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Sadar Ludhiana and all subsequent criminal proceedings arising therefrom. Furthermore prayer for issuance of directions to respondent No. 2 to take appropriate action against respondents No. 4 and 5 for lodging false FIR against the petitioners has been made.
Perusal of the office record shows that the matter was initially listed for hearing on 16.01.2020 when counsel for the petitioners prayed for an adjournment to place on record the zimini orders passed by the Trial Court. The matter was thereafter again taken up for hearing on 12.02.2020 when request for adjournment had again been made. Then the case was adjourned to 25.02.2020 on which date counsel for the petitioners again sought an adjournment. The case was then taken up on 16.03.2020 and. adjourned for 29.04.2020 on the request made by counsel for the petitioners Due to Covid-19 scenario, the matter was being adjourned by the NIC and the instant petition was taken up on 30.03.2022 but there was no representation on behalf of the petitioners and the matter, in the interest of justice was adjourned to 05.07.2022. On resuming hearing today, again there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners even though case has been called twice. It appears that the petitioners are no longer interested in pursuing the matter.
In view of the above, the instant petition is dismissed for want of prosecution.
