Present petition has been filed by the petitioner, seeking grant of anticipatory bail, in case, FIR No.184, dated 21.11.2024, under Sections 111(1), 111(2)(b), 111(3), 111(4) of BNS, 2023 and sections 25(6), 25(7) and 25(8) of Arms Act, registered at Police Station Cantonment, District Amritsar.

Today, learned State counsel has filed affidavit of Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, PPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation), Amritsar, dated 26.05.2026 in the Court today and the same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at the appropriate place on the file.

Learned State counsel apprises the Court that at the time of raid, total four accused persons were apprehended along with the LAVISHA 2026.05.27 17:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC, Chandigarh

CRM-M-2156-2025 -2weapons recovered from the spot; however, present petitioner was not found present at the spot.

Further submits that since arrest of the petitioner has been stayed by this Court, vide order dated 07.03.2025, no recovery could be effected from him.

In view of the stand taken by the State, this Court does not find it necessary to keep the present petition pending any further and, accordingly, deems it appropriate to dispose of the same, with the direction to the petitioner to join the investigation within two weeks from today or as and when called by the investigating officer, and in the eventuality of the arrest, petitioner would be released on anticipatory bail, subject to his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer. The petitioner shall also be abide by all the conditions laid down under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.). Besides, it is directed that petitioner would hand over his passport to the Investigating Agency or to Court concerned, if he possesses. Otherwise, would submit an affidavit, disclosing the fact that he does not possess any passport.

It is also directed that before leaving country any time during trial, petitioner would seek prior permission of the Court. 5.

With the directions recorded here above, present petition stands disposed of.
