1. The petitioner seeks grant of parole so as to perform and participate in the marriage ceremony of his sister which is stated to be solemnized on 28.1.2024.

2. This Court finds that the petitioner has not approached the authorities concerned by way of moving any application, but one legal notice dated 6.1.2024 addressed to Additional Director General of Police (Prisoners), Punjab and Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana, by his counsel is stated to have been issued.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider any application/notice, regarding grant of parole in case any such application is pending before the authorities concerned expeditiously. In case, no such application has been filed by the petitioner till date, it shall be open to the petitioner to move an application to the authorities concerned. As and when any such application is filed, the same shall be processed expeditiously and disposed of at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 days from filing of such application, if conveniently possible.
