The present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed for issuance of a direction to the trial court for expediting the trial in FIR No. 72 dated 18.9.2018, under Sections 279 and 337 IPC, registered at Police Station Mansa Devi Complex, District Panchkula. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is a small matter which is being delayed thereby affecting the petitioner and his career.

Learned counsel for the State appearing on advance notice submits that out of nine prosecution witnesses, five have already been examined but it was due to COVID-19 situation that further witnesses could not be examined. In the pleadings, it has been fairly stated that delay in the matter is not attributable to any one.

In such circumstances, no case is made out for issuing any direction to the trial court. However, it is expected that the trial is proceeded with in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible in the current scenario.

The petition is disposed of.
