%%%%%%% KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioners are praying for direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to provide protection to their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7.

In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondents No.4 to 7 who are related to petitioner No.1. Counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner No.1 is wife of respondent No.7 but they are having strained relations and petitioner No.1 being persistently harassed left the matrimonial house and started living with petitioner No.2 and now petitioners are into live in relationship which is opposed by respondent Nos. 4 to 7. As the petitioners are apprehending threat from the side of the aforesaid private respondents, they gave representation dated 05.01.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but the police authorities failed to take any action on the basis of the said representation. Counsel for the petitioners further submitted that he will be satisfied if necessary action is taken by the Priyanka Thakur 2024.01.16 19:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document authorities on the basis of the aforesaid representation.

&        Mr. Neeraj Sheoran, DAG, Haryana appearing for the official respondents submits that in case any such representation is pending, the concerned authority will look into the matter and take action in accordance with law.

In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, District Faridabad, Haryana to consider representation dated 05.01.2024 (Annexure P-3) and to take action if so warranted in accordance with law in case there is any threat perception to the petitioners.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the relationship of the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondents No.4 to 7 are at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to them under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
