1. The petitioner seeks issuance of a direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents No.1 and 2 to protect the life, liberty and property of the petitioner at the hands of respondent No.3 and his subordinate staff.

2. Learned State counsel has today filed status report by way of affidavit of Mr. Sukhdev Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Patiala. The same is taken on record.

3. Learned State counsel has informed that respondent No.3-Jaspreet Singh Kahlon, Station House Officer, Police Station Lahori Gate, Patiala, who allegedly issued threats to the petitioner has already been transferred from the said Police Station.

4. In view of the aforestated position, this Court is of the opinion that the petition as it is would not survive.

5. In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of having been rendered infructuous.
