SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking protection from respondents No.4 to 10. The petitioner claims that she is a major and had married to respondent No.4. However, she had matrimonial dispute with respondent No.4, who used to beat her under the influence of liquor and used to threaten her that in case she complains against him then he will eliminate her. The petitioner has further averred that she discussed this issue with respondent No.4 and her in-laws but no solution was found. Even her parents did not support her. Thereafter, she started working in the house of one Kulwinder Singh and started living with his family under his shelter. Apprehending threat at the hands of respondents No.4 to 10, she submitted a representation (Annexure P-2) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka which remained un-attended.

CRWP No.496 of 2020 {2} Without going into the issue of relationship of the petitioner with Kulwinder Singh and without evaluating the averments made in the petition, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioner, Annexure P-2 and grant her protection, if any, threat to her life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order order shall not be taken to protect the petitioner from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by her.
