Instant writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a direction in the nature of certiorari for setting aside impugned order dated 06.01.2017, Annexure P-3, passed by respondent No.5, whereby, Arms Licence bearing No.CP/ASR/ARM/ SW/1016/101, Annexure P-1, was cancelled. Another prayer has been made for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.3 and 4 to renew the Arms Licence of the petitioner. 2.

At the outset, counsel for the petitioner seeks and is granted permission to withdraw the petition with liberty to avail the remedy of appeal provided under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959. 3.
