Ms. Arveen Sekhon, Advocate, for the complainant. ***** AMOL RATTAN SINGH, J. (Oral) All the cases listed today have been taken up for hearing by way of video conferencing because of the situation existing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
By these applications, advancement of the date of hearing is sought in the accompanying petitions, which are ones seeking quashing of the FIRs in question, on the basis of a compromise arrived at between the parties.
Notice in the applications, with Mr. Amit Mehta, learned Sr. DAG, Punjab, accepting notice on behalf of the respondent State, on the asking of the court.
-2Ms. Arveen Sekhon, Advocate, appearing for respondent no.2 also accepts notice on behalf of the said respondent. With the consent of all the counsel for the parties, the hearing in the matters is advanced to today itself, with the applications thereby allowed.
Vide CRM-M-2013 of 2020 filed under the provisions of Section 482 of the Cr.P.C., the petitioner seeks quashing, on the basis of a compromise arrived at between him and respondent no.2, of FIR no.144 dated 31.05.2018 (as also all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom), registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 498A and 406 of the IPC. A copy of the compromise deed has been annexed as Annexure P-2 with the petition.
Vide CRM-M-37807 of 2019 filed under the provisions of Section 482 of the Cr.P.C., the petitioners seek quashing of FIR no.137 dated 20.06.2019 (as also all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom), registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/354/427/506/148 and 149 of the IPC.

/ $%& 137 dated 20.06.2019, registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/354/427/506/148 and 149 of the IPC. Surprisingly no mention is made of FIR no.144 dated 31.05.2018, registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 498A and 406 of the IPC.
Yet, learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that in fact the statements recorded were in the context of both the FIRs, in terms of the settlement arrived at before the learned Mediator in the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this court on 09.12.2019 (copy Annexure P-2 with CRM-M-2013 of 2020), a perusal of which shows that indeed even FIR no.144 dated 31.05.2018, has been duly mentioned therein, in respect of which a compromise has been reached between the parties, in addition to all other litigation.
That being so, with learned counsel for respondent no.2 also admitting to the factum of the compromise, both the petitions are allowed, with FIR no.144 dated 31.05.2018 (as also all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom), registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 498A and 406 of the IPC and FIR no.137 dated 20.06.2019 (as also all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom), registered at the same
