This is a petition under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking directions to respondents No.2 to 4 [official respondents] not to harass the petitioners.

Mr. Krishan Singh Dadwal, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there is a family dispute i.e. Matrimonial dispute. FIR was registered by the father of daughter-in-law i.e. FIR No. 38, dated 16.12.2020 under Sections 406 and 498-A IPC, registered at Police Station NRI, SAS Nagar. The matter was investigated and the petitioners were found innocent. However, it was stated that role of the petitioners were to be pursued during the investigation. CRM-M-3050-2021 -2petitioners are being harassed by being repeatedly called by police officials in the NRI Cell.

Ms. Samina Dhir, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, on instructions from SI Nisha, submits that the petitioners were called only for counselling purpose so that matter could be resolved. She further submits that in case the petitioners are required to be present with regard to the proceedings in the FIR, the due procedure as per law would be followed.
