Prayer in this writ petition is for directing the respondents to take necessary steps for conducting elections to the post of President and Vice President Zila Parishad, Panchkula, in a time bound manner, in terms of Section 121 of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act and Rules 76 and 77 of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Election Rules, 1994. Learned counsel for the respondent-State to whom an advance copy of this writ petition has been supplied, on instructions from Mr. Rajan Singla, DDPO, Panchkula, submits that election notice shall be issued today itself or at best by tomorrow and elections to the post of President and Vice President Zila Parishad, Panchkula, shall be held within one week thereafter.
