Through the instant writ petition, the petitioners have sought issuance of a direction to the respondent(s) to release a sum of ₹10,00,000/- in compliance with the order dated 28.10.2015 (Annexure P-4). 2.

During the pendency of the writ petition, the amount of ₹10,00,000/- was paid to each petitioner. The grievance of the petitioners now survives only to the limited extent of non-payment of interest on the delayed payment.

A perusal of the affidavit dated 10.07.2024, sworn by Mr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Unit Head-II of M/s. Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd., reveals that the respondent No.5-M/s. Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd. has offered to pay an additional amount of ₹1,00,000/- to each petitioner, over and above the amount awarded vide order dated 28.10.2015 (Annexure P-4), towards interest. The relevant paragraph of the affidavit is reproduced DEVINDER YADAV 2026.02.04 09:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-1830-2021 hereinbelow:- "5. That thereafter Deponent, along with other officials of the Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd. having made efforts by holding meeting with workmen/petitioners in the premises of Naraingarh Sugar Mills Limited and offered an amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- (One Lakh only) per workman over and above the amount awarded by the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court which may be considered as interest and promised to pay the same by 31st August, 2024." 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, submits that the petitioners are agreeable to accept the offer (supra) made by the respondent No.5.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.5 to pay a sum of ₹1,00,000/- to each petitioner within a period of four months from today. (KULDEEP TIWARI) January 29, 2026 JUDGE devinder Whether speaking/reasoned :
