**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No. 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from hands of respondents No. 3 to 12. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner Chander Kanta is a senior citizen, who lost her husband on 10.12.1997. He further submits that there are two portions in the house in question, out of which, one portion is with the petitioner right from the day one and she has been residing separately in the said portion. He further submits that the petitioner is having three daughters, who are already married and well settled.

Learned counsel further submits that the son of the petitioner, namely, Naveen Malhotra is having some matrimonial dispute with his wife Minakshi Malhotra-respondent No. 3 and he has been residing at a different place along with his children whereas respondent No. 3-Minakshi Malhotra (daughter-in-law of the petitioner) and her family members have trespassed GURPREET SINGH 2021.01.

CRWP No. 696 of 2021 -2into the portion of the petitioner and trying to eject her. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner has already made a representation dated 09.1.2021 (Annexure P-1) to Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar-respondent No. 2 but no action has been taken on the same so far.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 and 2 only at this stage. On the asking of the Court, Randhir Singh Thind, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State-respondents No. 1 and 2. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. Keeping in view the fact that the petitioner is a senior citizen, who lost her husband in the year 1997 and her daughter-in-law i.e. respondent No. 3 and her family members have allegedly trespassed into her living area, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar-respondent No. 2 is directed to look into the representation dated 09.1.2021 (Annexure P-1) moved by the petitioner and decide the same within a month from the receipt of certified copy of this order, as per law.

The petition stands disposed of.
