The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of FIR No.93 dated 7.12.2018 under Sections 498-A IPC registered at Women Police Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

The FIR was registered at the instance of Aarti wherein it has been alleged that she was married to petitioner-Rakesh Kumar Verma. It is alleged therein that the petitioner had however been harassing her and pressurizing her for bringing more dowry.

Today at the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the parties have entered into a compromise and a petition for quashing of FIR has also been moved.

Learned counsel for the complainant has not disputed the aforesaid assertion that parties have compromised the matter. 5.

In view of the aforesaid position and bearing in mind the fact that it is a case which has arisen out of matrimonial discord which is stated to have been compromised, in my opinion, it is not a case which would warrant custodial interrogation. Accordingly the petition is accepted and the interim directions issued vide dated 31.01.2019 by this Court are hereby made absolute subject to the condition that the petitioner would appear before Investigating Officer as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Investigating Officer and shall also abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
