**** AJAY KUMAR MITTAL, J. (Oral) The challenge in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is to the notifications issued under Sections 4 & 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (in short 'the Act') dated 10th October, 1979 and 08th September, 1980 respectively.

After arguing for sometime, when the Bench was not agreeing with the learned counsel for the petitioner, it was prayed that he may be allowed to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to claim benefit of Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 on the ground that the said notifications have lapsed as the petitioner continues to be in possession.
