The instant petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking issuance of a direction to the official respondents to protect her life and liberty as she apprehends threat to the same at the hands of the private respondents.

It may here be mentioned that respondent No.6 - Mamta Rani is none else, but real mother of the petitioner.

As per reply dated 8.2.2024 by way of affidavit of Shri Jasjit Singh, Sub Inspector, SHO Police Station Civil Lines, Batala, Police District Batala filed on behalf of the State, the petitioner had been married to one Sunny S/o Mohan Lal in the year 2012 and two children were born out from the Pankaj Kakkar 2024.03.11 16:15 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
CRWP-637-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) wedlock, but subsequently on account of maltreatment met out to her by her husband, she left her matrimonial home and later came in touch with one Raghav S/o Rajinder Kumar, with whom she is residing in a live-in relationship though the same is not approved of by her mother. In the aforesaid reply, it is deposed that statement of the petitioner had also been recorded to the effect that there is no threat perception to the life and liberty of the petitioner.

Learned counsel representing respondent No.8 to whom notice of motion had been issued i.e. husband of the petitioner has stated that respondent No.8 has assured that no harm would be caused to the petitioner. 5.
In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.6 and 8 not to cause any harm to the petitioner in any manner.
