Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to treat deceased Ashok Kumar, father of the petitioner, as "martyred Government employee", who passed away due to Covid-19 on 21.11.2020, which was not being done in view of the fact that only those Covid warriors, who had died on or after 01.03.2021 were granted the said status and their wards entitled to special compassionate financial assistance etc. 2.

Learned State counsel has filed a short reply dated 12.11.2024 of Superintendent of Police, Hisar, which is taken on record and while referring to Annexure R-1 of the aforesaid reply, states that the matter has now been reconsidered and decided that the Govt. Notification dated 08.06.2021 could now be applicable from 01.03.2020 instead of 01.03.2021 and accordingly vide communication dated 12.11.2024, Annexure R-2, the claim of the petitioner has now been referred to Director General of Police, Haryana and on instructions from ASI Virender Singh, submits that the same be decided within a period of 8 weeks.
