*** SANJEEV PRAKASH SHARMA, J. (ORAL) [1] This is an old case of 1983, which is shown as pending in the docket of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. The Registry has listed the case, pointing out that the original file and documents relating to this GSTR were burnt during the fire, which took place in 1996 and best efforts were taken by the High Court to contact the parties and their advocates but no response was received. The Tax Authorities, who are required to be vigilant about their cases, have also not taken any steps. No one appears before us even as on today on behalf of the respondent. [2] Learned State Counsel has appeared and informs that even till date, there is no record available with the State. [2] In view thereof, this petition is dismissed for nonprosecution.
