CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PANKAJ JAIN Present :
Mr. Naresh Chander, Advocate for the petitioners. PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) By way of present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5.
2.
Notice of motion.
3.
Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab. accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.
4.
As per the petitioners, they have married on 15.01.2024 against the wishes of respondents No.4 (father of petitioner No.1) and 5 (common friend of the petitioners).
5.
Both the petitioners have claimed themselves to be major relying upon their Aadhar Cards indicating that petitioner No.1-Haritika Kumari is 06.07.1997 born and petitioner No.2-Azad is 05.10.1992 born. 6.
Without commenting on the legality and validity of the marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No. 2 (Senior Deepak Kumar 2024.01.20 16:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-555-2024 -22024:PHHC:007650 Superintendent of Police, Mohali) to look into the representation dated 15.01.2024 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioners. 7.
Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondents No.4 and 5 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably. 8.
The petition stands disposed off.
