The Gram Panchayat of villlage Kalyan Sukha, Block Nathana, District Bathinda, has filed the present writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to immediately deposit the amount of grant sanctioned for the development work in the village in the account of the petitioner as per Section 86 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. 2.

On the request of the Court, Mr. Ayush Sarna, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, enters appearance for the respondents and states that the deposit of the grant-in-aid has been withheld due to the imposition of model code of conduct and the same shall be transferred after it comes to an end.
