KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) Case has been heard through video conferencing on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.

The petitioner has filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to direct respondents No.1 to 4 to protect her life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.5 to 7 and further to decide her representation dated 26.12.2020 (Annexure P-2). The counsel for the petitioner inter alia contended that petitioner is having matrimonial dispute with her in-laws and her husband Pal Singh @ Jeewan Ram is presently residing in USA. The police failed to take any action against her husband and other members of his family except mother-in-law. Respondents No.5 & 6 (brothers-in-law of the petitioner) are now harassing and compelling the petitioner to withdraw the criminal case against the entire family. For redressal of her grievance, the petitioner gave representation (Annexure P-2) to respondents No.2 and 3 but till date, no GAURAV SOROT 2021.01.27 13:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-768-2021 action has been taken in this regard. The counsel for the petitioner further submitted that he will be satisfied if necessary direction be given to respondent No.3 to look into the matter.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Hittan Nehra, Addl. A.G. Punjab accepted notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4. The State counsel has no objection if the necessary direction is given for disposal of representation (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law. In the light of the above, without commenting on the merits, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider and decide the representation dated 26.12.2020 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law within a period of next one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
