* * * * Bant Singh filed a claim petition seeking compensation for the death of his wife in a motor accident that took place on 12.04.2001. The learned Tribunal awarded a compensation of Rs.69,200/- vide its award dated November 23, 2002.
The matter was put up before the Lok Adalat. Notices were issued to the learned counsel for the appellants on a number of occasions, but the learned counsel did not put in appearance. Counsel having failed to put in appearance, notice was issued to the appellant and it was reported that the sole appellant has since expired. After the issuance of the report, notice was again issued to the learned counsel, but he has again failed to put in appearance. This appeal is pending disposal for the last more than 14 years. In the circumstances, the appeal is ordered to be consigned to record with liberty to the LRs to get it revived, if need be, after moving an appropriate application.
