SUMEET GOEL, J.(Oral) Present petition has been filed under Section 482 read with Section 528 of the BNSS, 2023, for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.0150 dated 15.06.2025, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 333, 118(1), 115(2), 191(3), 190, 351(2), 329(3) & 62 of the BNS, 2023 and subsequently enhanced under Sections 117(2) and 118(2) vide Rapat No.035 dated 21.06.2025, at Police Station City Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran. On 17.02.2026, the following order was passed: "Learned State counsel has filed short reply by way of

-2an affidavit dated 16.02.2026, in the Court today, which is taken on record.

Inter alia contends that assuming arguendo, the prosecution version, available at this juncture, is taken to be correct, the role ascribed to the petitioner is that of giving an injury, which is simple in nature; somewhat similarly placed co-accused (Sukhdev Singh) has been extended concession of interim anticipatory bail by the Hon'ble Supreme Court, vide order dated 13.01.2026 passed in Special Leave Petition (Criminal) Diary No(s).75332/2025, & the petitioner is willing to join investigation and cooperate therein. Put up on 17.03.2026.

The petitioner is directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on 21.02.2026 at 11:00 A.M. in concerned Police Station and join investigation. In the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on interim bail subject to his furnishing personal/surety bond(s) to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer/Investigating Officer. As and when further called by Investigating Officer, the petitioner shall join the investigation. He shall abide by the condition(s) enumerated under Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023."

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Tarsem Singh, submits that pursuant to the order dated 17.02.2026, the petitioner has joined investigation and is no longer required for custodial interrogation.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to confirm the order dated 17.02.2026. Accordingly, the instant petition is allowed. The interim order dated 17.02.2026, passed by this Court is made absolute,

-3subject to the conditions as enumerated under Section 482(2) of BNSS. 4.

This order should not be treated as "blanket" order. It will not be read granting petitioner indefinite protection from arrest. It shall be confined to the FIR mentioned ibid and will not operate in respect of any other incident that involves commission of an offence. 5.

Liberty is reserved in favour of State/complainant to move for cancellation/recall of this order in case the petitioner violates any condition stipulated under Section 482(2) of BNSS or upon showing any other sufficient cause.
