This is petition seeking permission for release of the amount of compensation lying deposited in the account of Akshay Kumar, who was minor at the time claim petition filed under Section 166 of Motor Vehicles Act was decided by Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Chandigarh and the appeal FAO No.5051 of 2011 was decided on 24.09.2013. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has since attained the age of majority, as such, he be allowed the amount of compensation of his share deposited in the bank as fixed deposit. While deciding FAO No.5051 of 2011, it was ordered that the amount of share of petitioner Akshay Kumar shall be deposited in fixed deposit in some nationalized bank, till the period he attained the age of Sachin Mehta 2016.08.09 10:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH

As petitioner Akshay Kumar has since attained the age of majority, the amount of compensation deposited in his name (including amount deposited under award and enhanced amount of compensation) is ordered to be released to him. It is stated that the amount is lying deposited in State Bank of Paitala, District Court Branch, Chandigarh. The petitioner will furnish the proof of his age to the bank along with copy of this order and the bank on receipt of the same, will release the amount, if the petitioner has attained the age of majority.

Disposed of accordingly.
