1. The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to respondents No.1 and 2 to protect his life and liberty as well as of other members of his family as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6, who are all police officers.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is having a flourishing hosiery business in Ludhiana and that several payments are due to be paid to his firm by local traders and that respondents No.4 to 6 had been pressurising the petitioner not to insist upon the said payments and had been threatening to implicate him in some false case.
3. Learned State counsel submits that the aforesaid allegations are not correct. Learned State counsel submits that respondents No.4 to 6 are present in person i.e. ASI Raj Kumar No.590 CIA-2, ASI Sukhminder Singh No.284 MOHAN SINGH 2024.01.20 15:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
CRWP-586-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2024:PHHC:007714 CIA-I, Ludhiana and ASI Jagdish Puri No.1003, CIA-3, Ludhiana and that he has specific instructions from them to the effect that the petitioner is neither involved in any other case nor has any antecedents and is not wanted in connection with any other matter and that he would not be harassed unnecessarily.
4. In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition has been rendered infructuous and is disposed of as such.
