**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Petitioner has filed present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, inter alia for seeking directions to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her friend namely Sandeep Singh, with whom the petitioner is residing, as she apprehends threat from private respondents with a further prayer to direct the private respondents i.e. respondents No. 4 to 7 not to interfere in the personal life and liberty of the petitioner.
On the last date of hearing while issuing notice of motion, learned State counsel was directed to file status report. In response thereto, learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Sukhdev Singh, has apprised the Court that the threat perception as alleged by the petitioner against the private respondents is unfounded, inasmuch as, the private respondents No.4 & 5, who are the parents of the petitioner have stated that the petitioner being a major is at liberty to live with whomsoever she wants. It has been submitted that there is thus no threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner as per the statement recorded by respondent No.4 (father of the petitioner) before the official JAWALA RAM 2021.02.24 15:28 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

In the circumstances, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the instant petition may be disposed of as infructuous, in the light of the statement made by the learned State counsel in Court today. Ordered accordingly.
