The petitioner has approached this Court seeking withdrawing the investigation of FIR No.331 dated 14.9.2020 registered at Police Station Division No.8, Ludhiana under Sections 336, 506 and 34 of Indian Penal Code read with Section 27 of Arms Act so as to entrust the same to some other agency/officer.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in the instant case the accused are influential persons and are even known to the Chief Minister of State of Punjab. The learned counsel, in this regard, has referred to a photograph (Annexure P-7), which according to him is of respondent No.10Sushil Raju Thapar and the Chief Minister of State of Punjab. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards the veracity of averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.5-Commissioner of Police, Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana to look into the matter and to ensure that the matter in hand is got investigated fairly and expeditiously in accordance with law, so that a final report is submitted thereafter at the earliest.

A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.5-Commissioner of Police, Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana so as to enable him to do the needful at the earliest.
