The instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to re-issue the passport to the petitioner with the name Jasnoor Kaur, instead of Jasnoor Kaur Chandi, despite the requisite documents being supplied/provided.

Ms. Shreyansi Verma, Central Govt. Counsel appeared on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 and informed the Court that the petitioner is required to re-schedule her appointment and thereafter visit the Office of Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar to address the query/information sought from her after which, the application for re-issuance of the passport to petitioner (minor) would be processed in accordance with law.

In view of the aforesaid stand taken by learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 3, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition, at this stage with a liberty to approach the Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar, so as to respond to any queries and/or provide information/documents sought from the petitioner. 4.
