The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent-department to decide the representation/legal notice dated 06.08.2019 (Annexure P-7).

Learned counsel for the petitioner has contended that respondent No.4, who is junior to the petitioner, is receiving a higher pay scale than the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has served a representation/legal notice dated 06.08.2019 (Annexure P-7) on which no decision has been taken till date. Learned counsel for the petitioner has further contended that he would be satisfied if the legal notice dated 06.08.2019 (Annexure P-7) is decided in accordance with law in a timebound manner. Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Anju Arora, Addl. A.G., Punjab has joined the session through video conferencing and accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3.
