The petitioner prays for grant of regular bail pending trial in criminal case arising from FIR No. 403 dated 02.10.2019, registered under Sections 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act (hereinafter referred to as "the 1985 Act"), 1985 and Section 427 IPC at Police Station City Barala, District Barnala. As per the case of the prosecution, Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh were apprehended with 21000 intoxicant tablets make Clovidol 100-SR. During interrogation, Gurpreet Singh disclosed that he has brought the above consignment from his cousin Bittu Singh, the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that there is no recovery from the petitioner and he is sought to be nominated as an accused on the statement of the co-accused, which is not admissible in evidence. Criminal Writ Petition No. 2778 of 2020 that the petitioner is a habitual offender. He is involved in two more cases under the 1985 Act and in one case under Section 304 IPC. In this case, there is a huge recovery of 21000 intoxicant tablets. The investigations are still in progress.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, this Court is not inclined to grant regular bail to the petitioner at this stage. Dismissed.
