The petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to conduct fair investigation in FIR No.27 dated 17.02.2023 registered under Sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC at Police Station City Khanna, Police District Khanna. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that since the investigation is still pending, the petitioner has a genuine apprehension that the official respondents may not carry out fair and impartial investigation. It has also been submitted that the accused, in connivance with the police officials, have been pressurizing the petitioner to withdraw the FIR, which stands registered against them. A prayer has, therefore, been made to direct the official respondents to expedite the investigation and present challan at the earliest. 3.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Amit Rana, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.

CRM-M-3559-2024 -2arrested, efforts are being made to arrest them. It has been further submitted that in all likelihood, challan would be presented very shortly. In the light of the instructions received by the learned State counsel, this Court does not deem it fit to issue directions, as prayed for.

The petition stands dismissed.

However, in case the petitioner approaches the official respondents with respect to the alleged threats being extended by the accused to withdraw the FIR in question, the official respondents would look into the same and take appropriate steps, as may be required, in accordance with law.
