Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter-alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the candidature of the petitioners for selection and appointment against 547 posts of Junior Draftsman (Civil, Mechanical and Architecture) in pursuance of the Advertisement No. 2 of 2021 dated 15.01.2021 on the basis of higher qualification possessed by them.

In pursuance of the notice of motion issued by this Court, short reply dated 20.12.2021 by way of affidavit of Amandeep Bansal, Secretary, Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab, has already been filed and perusal of the same reveals that above advertisement was withdrawn by the respondents vide public notice dated 30.06.2021. It is further submitted that after withdrawal of the above advertisement dated 15.01.2021, the fresh advertisement No.12 of 2021 dated 07.07.2021 has been issued with amended educational/ technical qualifications for the post(s) in question. CWP No.2027 of 2021 The above factual position is not disputed by learned counsel for the petitioners; rather he acknowledged that in pursuance of the fresh advertisement, all the petitioners have already submitted their applications. In view of the above development, learned counsel, on instructions from the petitioners, submits that since their grievance has been redressed by the respondents at their own level and as such they are no longer interested in pursuing the matter.

Disposed off accordingly.
