RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) In the instant criminal writ petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 11.

By producing copy of report of SHO, Police Station No. 3, UT Chandigarh, learned APP for UT, Chandigarh, submits that the instant criminal writ petition has rendered infructuous, in view of the fact that petitioners have made statement before the aforesaid SHO, that they did not need any protection.

In view of the above, the instant petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous.
