IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CWP-1732-2026 (O&M) Decided on :15.05.2026 MAMTA
...Petitioner
Versus
STATE OF HARYANA AND OTHERS . . Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE DEEPAK MANCHANDA PRESENT: None for the petitioner.
Mr. Aman Mittal, DAG, Haryana.
**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (Oral) 1.
The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking quashing of the impugned notification dated 15.01.2026 (Annexure P-8) issued by respondent No. 4, whereby the election for the post of President, Zila Parishad, Panipat was scheduled to be held on 28.01.2026, which, according to the petitioner, was causing prejudice to him. 2.
No one has appeared on behalf of the petitioner. 3.
Learned State counsel submits that the grievance of the petitioner was that the post of President, Zila Parishad, Panipat was not being filled up, however, as of now, the said post has already been filled up and, therefore, the grievance raised by the petitioner stands redressed. 4.
Keeping in view the fact that the grievance raised by the petitioner now stands redressed, coupled with the fact that nobody is appearing on behalf of the petitioner to pursue the present remedy, it can safely be presumed that the petitioner is no longer interested in pursuing the present petition.
