On 23.01.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to issue him passport.
The petitioner is a four years old minor child. The father of the petitioner has passed away and mother is no more staying with him. The petitioner is staying with his grandmother and application dated 09.11.2023 seeking passport has been filed through grandmother.
Notice of motion, returnable for 15.02.2024.
Ms. Amrita Singh, Central Government Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service. She seeks time to get instructions.

CWP No.1503 of 2024 -2- 2024:PHHC:034921 and the following order was passed:- "Ms. Amrita Singh, Central Govt. Counsel submits that grandmother of the petitioner has no certificate of guardianship, thus, in the absence of parents as well as guardianship certificate, the passport cannot be issued. Faced with this, Mr. Jaspreet Singh Brar, Advocate, submits that mother of the petitioner would appear before passport authority alongwith her documents and complete the formalities.
In the wake of statement of both sides, the petitioner is at liberty to ensure presence of his mother on 22.02.2024 before passport authority.
Adjourned to 12.03.2024.

Mr. J.S.Brar, Advocate, submits that pursuant to the directions of this Court, the petitioner alongwith his mother appeared before passport authority on 22.03.2024 and said authority has fixed fresh appointment on 18.03.2024. The petitioner alongwith his mother would appear on the said date and submit requisite documents.

Ms. Amrita Singh, Advocate, submits that passport authority would look into grievance of the petitioner and resolve the issue expeditiously.
