RAJ MOHAN SINGH J. (ORAL) Petitioner seeks regular bail in his fifth attempt in case bearing FIR No.58, dated 16.04.2019, under Section 18/61 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, at Police Station Guruharsahai, District Ferozepur. Vide order dated 29.01.2020 passed in CRM-M2581-2020, interim bail was granted to the petitioner on the ground of marriage of his daughter. Thereafter, vide order dated 11.08.2020 passed in CRM-M-19032-2020, the petitioner was granted interim bail on the ground of illness of his wife. The petitioner was required to surrender before the trial Court on 09.09.2020 but he did not surrender on the date fixed. CRM-M-4298-2022 - 2 - 09.08.2021 and since then he is in custody. CRM-M-348392019 filed by the petitioner for grant of regular bail has already been dismissed vide order dated 05.08.2021.
Learned State counsel submits that out of 12 prosecution witnesses, 05 witnesses have been examined and today is the date fixed for remaining evidence. Owing to the conduct of the petitioner, no ground is made out to grant regular bail to the petitioner at this stage. Dismissed.
